Another series of cycle trails has been marked out with the cooperation of CHKO Kokořín (PLA Kokořínsko) in the northern area beneath Vlhošť. You can get there from the Kokořínský důl (Kokořín valley) by the 211 trail which begins in Ráj. The marking of this trail ends in Tubož and shall carry on along the road to the north through Blatečky. Here you shall overcome the feared seat at Vlkov and then indulge yourselves in a downhill cycle to Kluk. After two additional small hills at RonovRozprechtice you shall find yourselves in Dubá. From here you shall take the road to Holany and after four kilometers you shall see the first turning, the 0057 trail. From here you shall cycle through Lhota, a village full of old timbered cottages, and you shall find the most beautiful area at a lake. At the peak of a steep hill behind the village lies the crossing of the 0058 trail. We shall come to this later. Keep on cycling straight. The long downhill cycle ends in Zátyň. Don´t miss Žába on the right, a sandstone imitation of a giant frog. You shall cross two small hills in the village. You can visit the small chapel which has been reconstructed into a recreation building. The fact remains that if it were not for the local cottage dwellers, then the chapel would have become a ruin, as also the school and most of the other habitable dwellings. The first catastrophy of these villages was during the former Sudetten departures. Firstly the Germans forced the Czechs out and after the war the same happened in reverse. The second blow was the building of prefabricated houses in the villages, into which new people moved in.

Turn right at the crossroads opposite the stretching range of Dubová Mountain and move into Pavličky where the trail ends with the 0058 crossroad trail. Carry on through Tuháň into Mošnice, turn left and cycle into Veselí, to Chcebuz and into Štětí to the Polabí cycle trail. The goose trail, marked 0058 leads from Pavličky in the Pod Čapem valley, turns left at the beginning of Komáří Důl crosses a wooded range and leads onto the road at Obrok. The blue marked trail through Kraví Důl is impossible to cycle through. At the end one has to climb cliffs, which can be managed by mountain goats and chamois, but not by bikes. One gets back onto the terrain at Skalka. Don´t forget to fill up on calories and liquids at the log cabin buffet for it is the last chance for many a mile ahead. The Goose trail weaves its way along a wide and comfortable wooded path which is carved into the rocks in places but mostly sticks to the crest. However, there are beautiful views from here and one can see the 614m high Vlhošť with three storey sandstone terraces, or, on the other side, from the Martinská wall one can look down into the deep Komáří důl (Komáří valley). You must make a short hike for this, as also to the cliff formations in the area - the giant Krápník and Tisícový kámen overhangs and Husa, which gave this trail its name. The final cycle shall bring you to the crossroads at Lhota where the trail closes with the 0057 trail.

An alternative route is from Skalka - the Podvlhošťská 0059 route. This descends into a valley. Firstly through forests and then across fields. It turns back at Hvězda and along the road directly into the valley beneath Vlhošť. The trail clings onto the green marked footpath, crosses the blue footpath and then emerges from the woods at Dolní Heřmánky, where you shall find the well known 211 trail. To the left you would get to Holany and then further to the northern border with Saxony, once the trail shall be marked, of course. To the right along the road you shall ascend to Dřevčice and a fast downhill cycle shall take you to the Lhota crossroads – the second loop of the Goose trail has been completed and you have managed the lot. This year the 0057 trail shall be finished through the Brocenská path into Želízy which shall thus link up to the 0010 trail leading to Kokořínský důl (Kokořín valley) and in Liběchov with the Polabí cycle trail from Prague to Dresden.
